Hi,
I downloaded the SAP Cloud Connector Linux (Developer) Edition from https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#cloud and installed it on my Linux Ubuntu system. Then I started it via go.sh and tried to connect to it with the URL https:<host>:8443/. Unfortunately I get a 404 error (page not found).
Of course I read that SAPCC is only supported for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 but I hoped that it would also run on Ubuntu.
Is there a way to run it on Ubuntu? Maybe with a newer version? I currently have installed the quite old version 8.04.
Thanks in advance
Helmut

Not sure what you mean by "8.04"?! The most current version at the moment is 2.1.4, so unless you have a time machine, I can't imagine how you got an 8.0.4 version already...
The most current version can always be downloaded from the Tools page: https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#cloud
Not sure whether there is anything on Ubuntu that really prevents the SCC from running. SLES and RHEL are just the platforms where it is tested and supported. The most common mistake that prevents SCC from starting is to use a 32bit Java VM... Also the Linux UUID daemon needs to be up and running. Not sure, whether it is by default on Ubuntu. SAP Note 1391070 describes how to activate the uuidd on SLES and RHEL.
If nothing helps, can you check the scc/log/ljs_trace.log file for more detailed error messages?

Hi Ulrich,
thank you for your reply. I´m not talking about SAP CC Version 8.04 but about Ubuntu Version 8.04. The current Ubuntu release is 14.04 so I´m living a bit in the Ubuntu stone age.
Your hint regarding 32-bit Java VM was helpful. I´m running my Ubuntu on a VMWare server and the version of VMWare I´ve installed only supports 32-bit guest operating systems.
So I have to either update my VMWare and Ubuntu or find another way to host my application at a 64-bit system.
Thanks and regards
Helmut
