Portal favorites are not visible after portal upgrade

Dear All,

We have upgraded our portal from SAP NW 7.0 SP 24 to NW 7.4 SP5.

But we have observed issue regarding portal favorites.

All the favorites user had saved in the previous version are not showing up after upgrade.

We have checked the "userhome" directory in KM content, we found out that for some user their are duplicate folders are present and out of which on folder containing the old favorites and the other one is blank.

When we tried to copy older favorites to the new folders then we were able to see favorited in the upgraded portal.

I was not sure why these duplicate folders are appearing in the KM.

Is there any work around available or is there any step which we have missed out during the upgrade??

Hello Atul,

This is know issue - please see SAP note 1454612 :

7.0x to 7.30 migration note:

The name of the "userhome" folder has changed with the 7.30 release. The userhome service is now using a different naming of the "userhome" folders. If you need to migrate existing Portal Favorites out of the 7.0x releases please open a message on the "EP-KM-CM" component and ask for assistance. There exists a migration tool which is available on request.

Hello Roman,

Thanks for youtr answer.

Yes, We had to open a case to SAP.  They helped us to deploy and run the migration tool which renames the KM folders.

This solved my issue.
