MDM Console on Windows 2008 64bit operating system

Hi Guys,

is there any chance to run / install the MDM administration tools (e.g. MDM Console) on a windows server 2008 64bit operating system. SAP Hardware requirements say that it's only 32bit is allowed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dirk

Dear Dirk,

All MDM rich clients are 32bit applications, however there is no issue with installing
the clients on 64bit windows operating systems.

It is correct the our product availability matrix only mentions 32bit windows
operating systems as supported, but we have never had issue with the 64bit.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Hi,Alina

i have met some problems with the 64bit OS running 32bit rich client datamanager.the client  was installed, when you log in,there was nothing but a frame of the client come out,no content at all.and we check the MSXML and Adobe PDF and MS visio, uninstalled and re-installed it, it worked then.also some still can't work.

these cases mostly happened in the newly laptop that just bought from the seller.

Hi,Dirk

we have intalled the clients(console, data manager etc.) in win2003 server 64bit,it is working fine.and also we installed them in win7 64bit,mostly it's running well, but some of it can not work.you can try to install the console in win2008 64bit,if the console can not work properly, uninstall it and re-install it,then it might work, that is what we met before.hope it helps you.

best regards

Stephen
