All,
We have a source database that is being migrated from MS SQL Server 2005 to MS SQL Server 2012. I understand that the data store configuration is currently pointing to version 2005. If we change the datastore setting to point to new server/SQL instance of 2012, it is my understanding that we will need to import all the tables. The problem is that I do not want to import all the tables (Reimport All option) as I am only using a handful of tables from the DB schema. Alternatively, I would have to reimport one table at a time. Is there another (more elegant) way to mitigate the impact of changing SQL Server from 2005 and 2012? In addition, what else could be affected at BODS end when this change takes place?
Thanks.
Don't change your existing datastore definition. Just add a 2nd datastore configuration pointing to the new environment and set it as default. That's all you've got to do. No need then to reimport any metatdata definitions at all.
