Dear Gurus,
Requesting your help in solving this issue.
I'm facing a problem where the costing run can't seem to complete. The process keeps running and shows a number of items still open. I've tried refreshing it a few times and waited for 2 days, but it still remained stuck. I've got some help from the basis colleagues to help kill the process and I deleted the costing run. After resetting everything and recreate costing, the same problem is persisting.
Now my user ID is locking multiple codes in the costing module.
Attach herewith a printscreen for your reference.
Appreciate your enlightenment.
Hi Wong,
I encountered this problem as well, but i don't have definite solution.
Just ask basis team to lock all the users and then try to carry out the costing run. May be at the downtime, when no of users are very few.

Hi Singla,
The strangest of things happened. The technical team doing the troubleshooting for me ran the exact cycle run using the same parameters I used, and it ran smoothly without problems.
After that, I'm requested to run again. And strangely, the cycle run didn't hang up like before. It ran successfully.
Very strange.
But still, thank you all for helping. Learned a great deal in this process.
Hi
Did you check any unexplained User locks in St12 with your User id say more than 1 day ? Also please check in Keko table the actual status of materials. I have seen cases where CK40n show open items but Materials were successfully processed.

Hi
I have observed that this happens usually when the material masters are being used somewhere for any purpose even for master data maintenance. So ensure that there is no material movements or maintenance at the time of costing run. Create a new costing ID at CK40N and go. Please update if it works.
One more thing to ask, I am not seeing structure explosion in screens given by you. Can you please update why it is so? Your header materials have the BOMs & routing or not.

Hi Rajneesh,
I've tried a few times already and I'm starting to feel rather embarrassed to get the Basis technicians to kill the process and let me recreate cycle run. The problem is still stuck at the same.
Why no structure explosion? This was what is was told to do.I was told that since all the related materials has been entered in the selection, this process is considered redundant. I've been running for a few years without structured explosion and the costing is doing fine. Maybe due to the costing structure or system settings.
We have a specialised report that shows active and present BOMs. And I ran the selection based on this, so I can presume that it is not due to BOM.
Just to clarify, based on your experience, wouldn't the system just skip to the next material selection if one has errors? The problematic ones will just be logged in the log, is my understanding correct?
