Note: Here is the SAP Help documentation to the topic: Creating Custom Semantic Objects - User Interface Add-On for SAP NetWeaver - SAP Library
As a company trying to deliver Fiori-Like Applications to our customers we are currently stuck at the following question:
How do we ensure that the Semantic Objects we create (which link to our UI5 Applications and are part of the Launchpad Catalogs we wish to deliver) do not intrude on SAP or Customer Semantic Objects we did not know of?
In other words - is there some way to deliver these Semantic Objects only within our Namespace?
Hi Robin,
I think there is no way for controlling namespace at this stage.

You are right. 'Overwriting' SAP Semantic Objects does not appear to be possible.
We do not expect another table of Semantic Objects for partners. Instead being able to include our namespace would be enough. Else we cannot guarantee overwriting the Objects of our customers who may have defined their own.
Slightly Off-Topic: I appear to be able to redefine SAP Semantic Objects - by creating a Semantic Object (/UI2/SEMANTIC_OBJECT) with a different Name and Description. The Launchpad will then only show one Semantic Object but filter by the name and description defined in the customer table.
