Talent Review Meetings Understanding

Hi,

It is my first Implementation project on Talent Management(Performance Management).I have gone through the details of Talent review meetings and have got an understanding on it. Pls correct me if im wrong.

1/ Talent management specialists can use this function to prepare, hold, and follow up on meetings for discussing talents

2/ Manger uses the talent assessment document to evaluate potentials of employee and appraisal document to evaluate performance (even before the      talent review meeting) of the Employee.

3/ In talent review meeting Employee can either agree/disagree for the ratings given to the employee.

4/ If the potential and performance values are accepted by the employee,the talent management specialist approves it and saves it. Then the values go and stores in IT 7408(potential) IT 7409(Performance).Calibration grid reads the value from these infotypes and updates accordingly showing who is good performer and poor performer.

I have a query here, Appraisal documents used by Manager are prepared in Tcode PHAP_PREPARE or these are different appraisal documents.Pls guide me on this.

1) yes you are right

2) yes you are right. But Performance Management is a different module.Only the final rating is transferred to IT7409 from Talent Management. Data is stored in status nominated.

3) Normally in review meeting the TMS and managers sit together to discuss succession planning for employees. So if in review meeting a rating is agreed the status of the relation will be set from  nominated to confirmed. This will be done by TMS.

4) yes you are right

Yes performance appraisals are created by PHAP_PREPARE and will be used in the separate performance process. Only the final rating is transferred to Talent Management IT7409. These values will be used for the grid as well. But this is only done in predefined PM not in flexible. If you want to create your own PM template please check BadI's to transfer date to IT7409.

Thanks for guiding me Martin.

So you mean to say,Talent review meeting are mainly used for succession planning than for performance appraisal.

According to my understanding, Managers rate the employee performance based on appraisal documents(PHAP_PREPARE).And appraisal documents are based on Appraisal templates.So are the talent review meetings helpful in giving the final rate to the employee.

Can u throw some light on how the calibration grid works in Flexible appraisal process.

Hi,

1)yes TRM is for succession planning. Performance ratings are already finished when TRM starts. For the talent matrix in TRM you need a final performance rating value from PM process.

2) Talent Management/Succession Planning is a different process to Performance Management. So Managers do a performance rating with appraisal forms of Performance Management process. These final ratings are transferred to IT7409(Talent Management). This Value is the basis of the TRM Talent Matrix. If you change the potenzial and performance rating by moving the talent icons around in the talent matrix only IT7408/7409 will be changed.

Hi

I have a query regarding talent monitor functionality. Where does this data (example  manager ( 1 of 5 )

comes from and what does it mean. How can I access the talent through talent monitor feature. Please reply . Its pretty urgent.

Hi,

data from Talent monitor comes from Enterprise Search....

The Talent Monitor shows participating managers and their talents. They can be moved to the agenda with drag and drop...Under Talent conferences you will find a customizing activity for the talent monitor.
