Coloring hierarchy levels

Hi all

We use Bex analyzer 7 and we would like to be able to color different hierarchy levels with different colors.

It shouldn't be changed when we refresh the data but should be dynamic, so that group1 will always have the same background color in my workbook even if it changes cells according to the last refresh.

I know that I can change the setting in the query properties not to Adjust Format after Refresh bit that is not enough of course

Any ideas?

Shlomi

I'm assuming that might be tricky to do.  You might want to take a look at these threads as a starting place.  There are formatting options available, but you need to know what elements (SAPBExchaText etc.) should be modified.

Please see this whitepaper for an example for how to format bex analyzer.

Here's another thread which might be helpful.

Hi Brendon

Thanks for your answer

Unfortunately I have more then 4 levels in my Hierarchy but BEX only have 3 classes

SAPBEXHLevel0

SAPBEXHLevel1

SAPBEXHLevel2

SAPBEXHLevel3

It marks all levels lower then 3 with the same format as level 3

Any way to add more classes and make Bex use them?

Hi Shlomi,

Are you going to drill down some characteristics aside from the starting format?

If not, you can color the hierarchies using the EXCEL function..
