Hello All,

I am in process of system copy,  got the following error from sapinst on Adjust Nametab task. please find error details below. I have googled for similar errors but solutions I have found on google other threads are not working in my favor, Please share your knowledge and similar experiences.

OS: Suse Linux Enterprise server 11 (x86_64)

DB: DB2/LINUXX8664 10.1.2

SAP: EHP 5  ECC 6.0

I have edited the keydb.xml file, replacing ERROR with OK and restarted sapinst but errors out with same error

I have tried sapinst_skip_errorstep= true but sapinst dosent even start with this?

And R3trans -doesn't     connect to DB

Much appreciated is someone advises solution to this error.

Thanks in Advance,

Regards

Sam

Hello,

I have enabled R3trans log, from the log I have found out that db2cli.ini has old SID and vhostnames.

1.  Execute R3trans –d, and it displays following no connect possible error

2. Create an R3trans log by command R3trans –w, log file is trans.log.

3. trans log says db2cli.ini file does not have new SID and vhostname details

4. Location of db2cli.ini /usr/sap/SID/SYS/global/db6/db2cli.ini

5. Edit file with new SID details

6. Now execute R3trans –d

Thanks for all your replies

Regards,

Sam

Hi Sam,

That is why we look at trans.log which is generated.

I asked you before.

Anyway, good that you fixed it.

Cheers..!!

Use same version of R3load that you used on source system for taking export.

Can you share the results of r3trans -d ?

Upload dipgntab.log and trans.log.

Still an open problem?

Did you checked, if the DB is up-and-running, ports are open?

If the DB is at an other system - is there any firewall which might block the connection?

Your screenshot - is R3trans started at the DB host or at an other system?
