updmode in 2lis_03_bf is set to R

Our extractor 2lis_03_bf was running when they shut down the system.  The UPDMODE was set to "R" after this occurred.  Prior to that it was set to "D".  Now it just keep trying to process the records over and over and times out on us.    Please can you tell us how to change this mode and is it safe to do that without losing data?

are you loading delta load or full load?

at which stage your getting time out error. info pack or dtp load?

if its full load then due to the huge volume data it might be timed out.

better to split the data based on some selection and load into bw.

if your facing timeout error at info pack then"

You can increase the info pack timeout time at info pack--> menu scheduler-->time out time.

Use more parallel processes. if needed ask basis team to increase the application servers.

I meant to say we get a short dump, sorry.  It is failing when the infopackage runs.  It is a Delta but the update mode now is saying R.  We didn't change this though but it changed automatically when the system went down.

if you get time out dump then you can increase wait for your info pack as state above step.

You can increase the info pack timeout time at info pack--> menu scheduler-->time out time.

Hi L MM,

Update mode R meaning the system is trying to do a delta repeat on the delta data.

Please let us know following:

1. Which system went down? - source system or BW?

2. In source system check if there are any failed/stuck IDOC? - if yes then process them using BD87 while the info package is running.

3. Check SM58 log in source system.

Also as Raman asked, can you share the timeout error screenshot.

Thanks

Amit
