Restricting local repository access

Former Member

I want to track all the changes there are made to the production local repository where my jobs run. I set up a dev local account and a central repository. However changes can still be made directly to the production local repository without them being tracked by the central repository. Is it possible to lock the production local repository so that it can only be modified by pulling in jobs from the central repository?

Basically I need a way to track all changes made in the production local repository. So no changes can be made without the user, date time, and comments being recorded.

Hi Duplie,

You can restrict the user in PRD environment to restrict access of Local repository for configuration please refer below thread.

Or it is was better to give Only "VIEW" rights to user to see the Objects (Job, Work Flow, Data Flow, ....)

In Prod CMC->Data Services -> User Security

You can restrict who can access the repository or give access to only the person who is resposible to Update Production Local Repository and Deny access to rest of the users.

Personally I like this approach when you have Multi-developer Environment
