Hi, guys

My pc is Win8.1 x64 os, and I installed vs 2012 and cr dev for vs.

But a few days ago, I downloadde CR 2013, and install it.

CR 2013 can not open.

Does they have conflicts, or I need to do something?

Thanks.

Are you a local administrator on your pc?  Did you "run as administrator" to do the install? What error are you getting?

Yes, I'm the admin, and when I install cr, it request the admin , and I pressed yes.

No errors, I click the cr shortcut, nothing comes(wait a long time is the same, nothing).

See if this helps;

Compatibility between crvs and cr 2013 is not an issue.

Right click on the crw32.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86) and select run as Admn from the pop up menu.

If you had a previous install of CR 2011, do a repair of the  CR 2013 install. See:

Also see:

Make sure the %TEMP% directory has read / write permissions.

Hi, Ludek

I unistalled Cr2013, and then reinstall it.

This time I open it, shows

And what do you mean " %TEMP% directory has read / write permissions"?

Thanks.

I have never ever seen that error before. Nor has anyone else around here. I googled the error, no hits at all... Do you have any other CR ? SAP products installed? E.g.; CR for Enterprise. Dashboards. CR for eclipse. CR Server. Any other versions of C?

One idea; delete the reg keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0

While you're at it, delete the folder (and subfolders) C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0

Then reinstall.

NOTE: this is assuming you do not have any other products that may use that directory. E.g.; see my 1st paragraph in this reply.

Hi, Ludek

I only install cr dev for vs, and cr2013.

And I tried as you said, it didn't works.

On my virtual machine, win7 x32 and x64 os, it runs perfectly.

Em, it's so wired.

Hi, Ludek

Yes, I followed every step as you said. Still the same. I Baidu the problem(google is forbiden here), many said it's VC ++ runtime. I'll try their advice and give you a answer.

Now I only run CR2013 on my virtual machine.

Hi,

I found this article from Microsoft that may help.  It references Windows 7 so hopefully the registry entries will be the same in 8.1.

Good luck,

Hi, all guys

I use sxstrace.exe, and output a trace file.

see the attach.

And I tried to install vc2005, Crw32.exe works

All in all, it's Mircosoft's fault.(My machine has installed vs 2010 and 2012, maybe they do not contain vc 2005)
