Inbound Port Status is "Has Exception"

Hello SAP experts,

We are experiencing an issue regarding the automated import of data from another system to MDM.

The file is located in the Ready folder. But the status of the port is Has Exception

The processing type is set to Automatic and the Block on Structural Exceptions is set to No in MDM console.

We are trying to import a file in Delimited Text format

Please advise on how to proceed. Thanks!

Regards,

Romeo

Hi Romeo,

There are n number of threads which explains the solution for this issue. When there is a block in the port, first try to reprocess that failed file by copying it from Exception folder and placing it in the ready folder again. If the issue still persists, check under which exceptions did it fall. According to exception type you can analyse the error and take it forward.

Many of the cases, a reprocessing will solve the issue.

Hi,

Under your MDM port directory you will have directory structure for Inbound processing as below...

1. Ready

2. Status

3. Archive

4. Log

5. Exception (under exception)

     a. StructureX

     b. ValueX

     c. ImportX

According your error, you should have xml file in StructureX folder. You now need to correct the structural error and and re-process the XML file by moving it to ready folder or manually process it.

In either case you need to empty the Exception folder and its sub-folders.

This will unblock the MDM port.
