Hello Experts.

We are running on SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1, whenever we want to login to SAP PI /XI we first log into ABAP stack using SAP GUI & then execute T-code SXMB_IFR.the server entries of those are maintained in local host file, only after that a certain java applets gets downloaded to the local machine & we gain access to ESR or Integration Builder.

Instead of doing all these i.e login to ABAP stack first cant this entire login process be integrated into SAP NetWeaver Portal ?

if so kindly let me know.

Hi Priyesh,

You can create below url's for your PI system and then open them in browser

http://<hostname>:<port>/dir/start/index.jsp (or)

http://<hostname>:<port>/rep (or)

http://<hostname>:<port>/dir

to directly open the ESR or ID without logging into ABAP stack.

Hi Ravi,

We already had Java Stack for PI , my question is whether the netire login process can be integrated into Netweaver Portal or something related to single sign on can be done as mentioned by Mark Smyth.

Hi Priyesh,

the Integration Builder Start Page has a kind of fixed address. So you can put it into your internet favorites or start it from any portal - no problem. Starting from SXMB_IFR is just a way to start if you dont know the address.

Hi Udo,

Thanks for reply T-code SXMB_IFR is already in fav menu, but my question is whether the entire login process can be integrated into a NetWeaver Portal , We are having both Java & ABAP Stack for our current system.

Is it that when you have only Java Stack for PI then only the entire login operation is integrated into Portal.

Hello Priyesh,

You can configure Single Sign On for the PI system. I assume this is what you are referring to? See also note 1306458 Documentation SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1
