GRC 10.1 Password self service system default

Hi,

We have implemented the Password self service for one of our systems (where we got a lot of password requests). Some of the other systems use Single sign-on.

Is there a way of defaulting the system in password self service; such that the user is not expected to search for the system for which they want a password?
Currently, after the user has submitted their challenge response answers, they are expected to search for the system where they want a new password. It only returns one system anyway in our scenario, but we would like to save the user the trouble of having to search for the system whereas there's only one in any case.

Thanks,

Pumza

Hi Pumza,

How you would know that the user needs to reset password to what system?

E.g, User is having access to systems S1, S2 and S3 and consider you have made S2 as default (which is not possible) and restrict the user to search for the other systems where he/she exactly needs to reset the password then how would that happen..??

So, first of all, restriction of systems for PSS and making some system as default is not possible and not friendly in nature. Even if you do so for some system then it would be global for all the users, by not enabling PSS parameter for the connector.

Hope this is clear now.

There's only one system for which we configured PSS

Hi Pumza

I don't think you will be able to achieve this via standard IMG configuration. Some restriction via SAP authorisation. But at the end of the day, as Ameet mentions, the systems assumes the user would have mutliple systems to request password for. Alternatively, the user may not exist in the system they are requesting.

You could reach out to your ABAP developer to see if they could enhance the webdynpro to achieve this for you (possibly default the value in configuration or enhance the layout to default system instead of the select system step. However, if you later decide to introduce additional systems, you may find yourself in trouble.

Hi Pumza,

In PSS the user will have to select a system they have a valid user ID and no default can be populated. It is slightly like the "existing assignment" button/screen in Access Request.
