I am having issues with the 1.18 version when starting on a Windows 7 32 and 64 bit machine. It installed without errors, but when started, it hangs at the splash screen with the message Loading module "Publishing to SAP HANA". It will not do anything after this, any ideas?
Hi,
this is an installation / launch problem . the application is trying to initialise and gets stuck trying to load that module.
as mentioned above: an uninstall, followed by a clean-up of the directories:
C:\Users\<user>\.sapvi
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\SAP\Lumira
C:\Users\Public\sapvi
followed by re-install (run as admin), followed by a launch (run as admin) will solve this issue

Thank you, Henry.
The solution you suggested worked.
I was getting stuck with Lumira 1.18 on the "loading module: 'Publish to HANA'" bit on the splash screen, but all I had to do is delete the C:\Users\Public\sapvi, and launch it again - and it worked!
This must have to do with licensing validation as I had an expired keycode and only after deleting that folder the launch process went past that splash screen and allowed me to enter a new keycode.

yep, this reinstall routine hasn't changed since 2012

I'd like to add that the same issue exists for Predictive Analysis.
In this case you should clean up the C:\Users\Public\sappa folder too.

Thanks for the replies.
I have tried both Florian and Tammy's ideas but still have the problem.

Hi Alan
Is there a log file you can share with us?
(logs are stored under under C:\Users\<Your User >\AppData\Local\Temp\sapvi\logs and their name starts with TraceLog)
Once you have the log, can you please try to delete the .sapvi folder (C:\Users\<your windows user>\.sapvi) and retry and see if if does any good?
Thanks
Antoine
Hi Alan,
Unfortunately the logs are not super informative. They describe the loading process of the different modules but not much more. So please follow Tammy's advice:
I recommend opening a support incident with SAP at support.sap.com or calling the Lumira Support line tomorrow at +1 (855) 5-LUMIRA(58 6472)
Good luck ! please update this post when your incident has been resolved.

Antoine
Hi Alan,
Would you please take a look at this SAP Note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1963482
1963482 - SAP Lumira desktop does not run and does not give an error message
See if this helps?

Also got the same problem on one of my notebooks.
I solved it by deinstalling it and installing it again as Administrator.
I think the Administrator-mode solved my issue. Before that I installed it twice and it always hung up while loading.
