Hi,
I am trying to validate an effort estimate for an ERP 6.0 EhP5 upgrade.
How much time should it take to apply support pack 3?
I have limited BASIS capabilities and therefore reaching out to you experts.
Regards,
Abhijeet
Dear,
What package do you need to upgrade ??
All support packages have some dependencies that you need to follow, so is very dangerous update manually by SPAM.
I recommend you to generate the Stack.xml in Solution Manager in MOPZ Transaction.
In Solution Manager you can see the current SP level that you have and what SP level you can go.
After this, you need Download ALL SP´s generated on Solution Manager and Stack.XML and use SUM to update your System.
This is the correct procedure and recommended by SAP.
Is important have Solution Manager updated with latest version.
Regards.

The duration depends on the hardware resources. As there is no information about the source system it would be difficult to give an estimate.
If you are using the SUM tool then like Daniel mentioned it would take about a week for the SUM execution.
Of course you can make use of parallelism but that depends on the hardware resources.

Why do you want to go to the outdated SPS 3?
The runtime of one system is about 1-2 weeks, for dev systems you need about 5 days of work (since most of the time is only monitoring SUM), other systems 3-4 days. It also depends on whether you need to upgrade OS or DB as well.
