HELP!! receiving alert indicating instance is DOWN...

Hi All,

Would like to seek help I'm not sure why the alert always sent every 10 minutes indicating the instance is down, but I check the instance is up and running. any idea to turn off the alert message?

Resolved the issue due to network issue.

If CCMS sends it you should see the path to MTE in the alert text which creates alert. If you see only the text as above, then not sure that CCMS infrastructure create these alerts, and this is why I would check details of the e-mails in SOST first before checking all possible transactions...

when I check via SOST on SOLMAN, it seems there were no email sent to me.

means not this instance the one sending?

do you see in the e-mail, in which client it was sent?

could you please check SOST in client 000, if you see the e-mails there?

Hello Ura,

in the e-mails from CCMS infrastructure you would see more details, most likely this is not CCMS what sends the e-mails. Are you using an external monitoring tool?

From where are you getting this alert ?

Ccms or technical monitoring ?

Is your system reachable from solman?

If it's java system, have a look at GC of server nodes.

I'm getting the error that the ABAP instance is down,

but I checked all my instance were in green color.

so I'm not sure if I have missed out anything else?

yes my system is reachable via solman,

btw how do you double check on this?

Are you using the new integrated agents or old ones ?

Is it from CCMS or Alert Inbox of System Monitoring ?

Unfortunately I've no idea whether it's from CCMS or alert inbox or system monitoring.

every 10 min. interval it sent out via email

are there any other details - which user has sent it? CCMS will send it either under SAPSYS user or the user of the censys dispatcher job.

Ok, then

1st goto CCMS and check availability monitoring monitor for these ABAP system.

Click on current status to check.

Else goto Alert inbox and check for these ABAP systems alerts.

Share the results.

CCMS in the <sid>instance that down or SOLMAN?

because I done some test even if the <sid> instance is down, the alert is still sending.

please check in SOST if you see further details for the e-mails

Goto RZ20 in solman if that is your central system.

Anyway, just check RZ20 and check as told you.

Alert Inbox can be checked from SOLMAN_WORKCENTER.

any specific CCMS monitor sets should I load?

I went to SOLMAN_WORKCENTER as well,

under system monitoring and technical monitoring, there is none of the setting set to the sent email address.

It should be custom monitor - check something related to availability or ABAP system .

I am your mail box, from which user are you getting this alert ?

If it's SOLMAN_BTC, then it should be in Alert Box ?

Please share the full screenshot - if possible find the user ID from email address.

yeah that's all full email notification.

what is your OS ? unix/linux ??

check crontab for any such OS script.

The alerts is very basic and should not be from ALERT inbox.

Windows 2008 R2 is the OS.
