Crystal Report Product Key

I am doing a setup of Crystal Reports XI on a new PC and transferring the product key from my old PC. The product key found in the registry is larger than the allowed space on the setup screen. Setup screen is in character counts of 5-7-7-4 and the registry key is 5-7-7-7-2. My registry key was verified that this was good. How do I get this entered into the setup screen

I just looked at my keycode for CR XI (v. 11.0.x) and it is 5-7-7-4.

CR 2011 (v. 14.0.x) has a keycode of 5-7-7-2 and so is CR 2013 (v. 14.1.x).

How was your registry key was verified?

You may want to contact sales and get the keycode checked: 866-681-3435

My keycode was verified by the support chat group. I contacted them about my issue first they said my keycode was good. They stated I should post a question to the community for help.

Hi Nicholas,

The registry also stores the 'Date' towards the end of the string.

The Key is everything to the left of the ':'

Example, if the registry key is:

XXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXX:20140902;

then the keycode is everything to the left of ':'

I did see the date after the ':' but there is still more characters that the setup entry screen will allow. " Setup screen is in character counts of 5-7-7-4 and the registry key is 5-7-7-7-2." The character count does not include the date entry.

That means the key you're trying on is either CR 2008 or higher.

CR XI's keys Do Not work on CR 2008 or higher. They can only be used with CR XI or CR XI R2.
