significance of PGEQU in Export declaration

Hi Gurus,

We have a case where our highly customized code is Interfering with latest SAP standard code and as a result when we try to simulate item aggregation, the 'packages' and 'Packed Quantity' in the packaging data' tab at item level is showing wrong values. We found that code correction for the 'Packed quantity' required lot of changes which may have impact on other areas and as such thought of skipping the changes to this field as this is not being used anywhere in communication to Customs.

I would like to know the significance of this field and where else it would be used and what would be the impact on other areas if we still have the wrong 'packed quantity' showing up during simulation.

BR,

Sam

Hi Sam,

If you`re sure that the field is not used for the communication with customs(?) then check all the other outputs you might be using from the communication tab.

You dont mention all the customs scenarios and documentation produced from the system so its a bit difficult to say what can be impacted. Lets at least say that you can test every single output, either adobe forms or outbound EDIs, etc..

Is this problem only specific for 1 country legal regulation -  Sweden - or others as well ?

Also perhaps consider the audit perspective - situation that would show different information on cusdec vs what you communicated to authorities...

Cheers,

Branislav
