Impact on BCS after migration of BW functionality to ECC

Hi All,

Back ground:

We have RFC connection issue (in comparability between BW and ECC due to component mismatch) between SAP BW and SAP ECC after EHP6 upgrade.

SAP suggested below option

1. Upgrade ECC with EHP7 - Not possible now

2. Migrate BW functionality to ECC box.

Nee clarification option 2:

1. How much it is feasible to migrate BW functionality where BCS already in use from 1year.

2. What are the activities do we need to perform to reflect all BCS objects (i.e.. master data and consolidation functions) in new data stream.

Immediate response will be appreciated.

Hi all,

We have followed below steps to over come the situation.

1. Replicated (same as in BW system) BW objects and info cubes in ECC.

2. Removed RFC destination from BCS workbench data model

3. Manual synch through program UGMDSY20 for BCS hierarchies and UGMDSYNC for the master data to BW

I would like to say thank you to Eugene Khusainov and Dan Sullivan for valuable inputs in old threads which helped me.
