UWL customization in portal

Hi<

I am trying to do UWL customization in portal.

I want to add two buttons one for manage substituion rule with rename and other is refresh as a link.

I have read the stuff that download standard xml file and do the changes rename the file and upload it.

I did all this but still cant see changes in UWL.

How would system know that it has to pick up new changes xml file?

what am I missing here.

Solved. Changed the groupaction value to default action.

Actually nwe have installed new portal 7.3.

I have downloaded the xml file from old portal which new customization and added the new xml file in new portal.

cleared the cahe. but can't the the buttons in new portal.

Hi Seema,

Please enable the UWL Support Information and check if UWL item is picking up the right XML configuration. Please go through the below wiki to enable the UWL Support Information.

Hi Anurag,

i did this and could see that it is picking up new custom xml file. But can't see the new added buttons.

What could be the issue. clread the cahce and re-register the system also.

Hi,

I am trying to add a new button next to create task. Have made changes in standard file in default view.

But changes are not reflecting. Have clreaded the cache.

Hi,

What SP is the system on? Please check note 1803438 - 'Showing UWL item action as a button - only in context menu' as it may be applicable.
