solution manager configuration diagnostic host agent

Hi experts,

I am configuring the solution manager 7.1 SP9, I have one doubt whether our systems contains diagnostic host agent or not.

in sapmmc at the time of restarting the sap services i found that DAA is there.So i got this doubt. Please clarify what is diagnostic host agent and SAPHost agent and also please provide any material for solution manager configuration. I am not getting clarity from google.

Hi Patan,

For every new installed fo newver versions, diagnostic agents are installed by default.

Goto /usr/sap/DAA

If your have this directory, the your agent is there.

To connect to solution manager, login as daaadm user and run below script.

smdsetup.exe managingconf  hostname:"sapms://servername" port:"81xx" user:"SMD_USER" pwd:"xxxxxxx"

Please tell me the correct URL if my host name is migsolman and fully qualified host name is migsolman.neelgiris.com and http port number is 8001.

Use smdsetup.exe managingconf  hostname:"sapms://migsolman.neelgiris.com" port:"81XX" user:"SMD_USER" pwd:"xxxxxxx"

Where XX is your is your instance number for SCS instance of solution Manager

SMD_USER is the user created for connecting diagnostic agent in solman_setup 1st step.

Hi srivastava,

I am new to the BASIS in that i am very new to the solution manager.Please give clarity on this.

i run the script through "D:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA97\script" then how can i go for that URL.

Actually i tried different port so that it was not work.Now i used 81XX port now it is working fine.

Please let me know what is wily introscope and how should we configure.Whether the wily introscope need to be installed on solution manager only or manged systems(DEV,QAS and PRD) also.

I told you this before to use this port.

Anyways, for wily you can start with this note - Note 797147 - Introscope Installation for SAP Customers

Also, search on google for SCN threads.

Hi,

I executed the given command successfully in daaadm user.In command prompt it is showing that "task completed with status success".But in solution manager it is not getting visible. I checked in log file SMDsystem.0.log , i found exception in the log.

find the exception

migsolman.milltec.com:8001 Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException: Cannot open connection on host: 192.168.140.47 and port: 8001]

DAA implies diagnostic agent is installed on your system.

Hi Patan,

The issue which you have is more of Solution Manager configuration.

From the screen shot there are warning messages complaining incomplete configuration.

Please complete the managed system configuration and ensure everything is green.

Hi Patan,

Can you check whether DAA is running ? If yes check what is the hostname maintained in the profiles. Restart DAA if possible and check available agents.

I am not very clear which URL you requesting for in your response ?
