Hi Experts,
We are trying to build a HANA POC and we are copying it from existing BI 7.3 which is running on oracle. We have taken the the export from source BI system and now we are trying to import on HANA server. We are on SPS8 for HANA and using SWPM 1.0 SPS06. We have selected the standard installation option.
While importing it is asking us for SAP system SID and HANA database SID. We gave the same SID for both but its is giving us error that hana database sid and sap system sid cannot be same. We remember that in older HANA versions (sps 06) we gave the same SID and there was no problem.
Moreover, if we are selecting standard installation does that means it is going to install SAP instance and hana database on the HANA appliance?
Other query I have is that it is also asking us for HANA RDBMS server media. What is this and why it is required when we already have HANA sps08 installed on appliance.
If we want to install SAP instance on different server other then HANA appliance do we need to select the distributed installation.? Again in older version we were able to install HANA database with standard installation first on HANA server and then we installed the SAP BI instance on different server.
Please help me with the above queries. Thanks in advance.
Regards
Ashutosh
