Migrate DMS files from DMS_C1_ST to Content Server

Today we are using DMS documents setted KPRO and keeping attachements at DMS_C1_ST proposed by standard SAP.

Now, we need change documents repository to Content Server HTTP, until now it´s OK. The doubt is, how migrate the old files, that had already been loaded in DMS_C1_ST, to the new Content Server ??? And after this, when we display a document in CV03N we´ll see the attachments ok in the new repository ???

There is a way to do this ??? If someone knows, please let me know.

I am also having the exact same requirement . To migrate the old files stored in DMS_C1_ST ( Storage category of SAP DB) to the storage category of new content server( AIX not Windows ).

Is it possible in anyway..?

The standard report 'DMS_KPRO_CONVERT' is for transferring originals from SAP-SYSTEM to content server when Kpro is not ticked. Here that is not the scenario, Kpro is ticked and we are using content repository DMS_C1. We are using SAP ECC6 EHP6.

The program DMS_RELOCATE_CONTENT is to relocate content between two content repositories. It is only for Kpro, and not for FTP(vault), but nobody in their right mind uses that anymore with SAP DMS.

It works by moving file by file, so it is not the fastest process ever. The positive is that it is stable, and very resilient. It can manage being restarted, stopped etc with no adverse effect.

In short, the perfect solution for a slow and controlled migration. Only little annoyance is that it moves the file to the application server, so for remote site it uses more bandwidth than necessary.

Hi,

Do it the safe and simple way:

1. Configure the new content server

2. Create new content category and repository

3. Migrate content using program DMS_RELOCATE_CONTENT

4. Change default category to the new one. (table  SDOKPHCL_C could be a starting point)
