BP Replication between CRM and ERP system

Hi Experts,

I have came across a scenario in which i see the SAP by standard only pass the partner GUID to  ERP System to get the few calculations done for the partner in ERP system.

Now, my question is, GUIDs can be created pragmatically in custom logic, than how SAP Software makes it possible that while replication of business partners to ERP system from CRM system gets the same GUID. There may be a case where the GUID assigned to a BP in CRM is already getting used in ERP system for some other transaction or any other object.

Please share your thoughts on this.

Guids are created uniquely in each SAP instance(here it is SAP CRM) but it is very much possible you store(not create) these guids across other system landscapes(including another SAP instance which is ECC here).
