Hi,
We need to cts+ configuration for our BI portal and NW portal using Solution manager as a communication system.
My question here is do i need to use same transport directory for solution manager+enterprise portal+BI portal to perform this.
Is there a way to use one common directory between solution manager+enterprise portal and a different common directory between solution manager+BI portal.
If this is possible can some one help me with some documentation related to this.
Regards,
Srujay
Hi Srujay,
in the interpretation of CTS+ which I have worked with, when doing CTS+ for a Java stack, your TransDir is the transdir on the domain controller, the Solution Manager /usr/sap/trans
The Solution Manager uses Remote Function Calls to make the remote deployment of the transport from the source directory on the domain controller Solution Manager.
Search for this document on google, it's an old one but a good one...
How To... Set Up and Use the CTS+ in a Portal Environment
Have a read of that and come back if it helps or not.
Best regards,
Andy.

CTS+ is going to use the trans dir of SolMan, and that is where everything is going to be placed as this is where tp is located which according to who taught the E2E200 session I was in, tp is the quarterback for TMS.
What I have seen with PI and BoE/BOBJ you will see a separate folder for every TR released. Before talking with John I attempt to separate TR from SolMan ones via TMS parameter settings and failed to split it off to another folder.

Hi Srujay,
go on google, and search for:

there is mountains of doco out there on how to do cts+ in SAP Portal
Best regards,
Andy.
