I have developed a script for Vietnam in Vietnamese language. In print preview its displaying properly but if i download it as PDF that script displaying some strange text.

I translated the text in SE76 but that was not useful

Do we need to install respective adobe readers to see vietnamese language?

In the server VI language fonts are uploaded that i could see in the tcode I18N.

Please let me know if any one faced the same issue before

Hello Naresh,

I think SAP note 1433470 can be helpful.

Hello,

Is your system Unicode system?
If yes, please upload the font as note 1433470:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first prerequisite for proper PDF conversion to Vietnamese is the

installation of suitable TrueType fonts with report RSTXPDF2UC which support

special characters from the following Unicode ranges used in

Vietnamese:

LATIN EXTENDED-A

LATIN EXTENDED-B

LATIN EXTENDED

ADDITIONAL

The standard Windows XP fonts CourierNew, Arial, TimesNewRoman do not support

LATIN EXTENDED-B and LATIN EXTENDED ADDITIONAL and PDFs converted using these

Windows fonts will show boxes instead of some Vietnamese characters.

Most (but not all) required Vietnamese characters are contained in Windows XP font

Tahoma (it has no support for LATIN EXTENDED-B).

The standard Windows Vista and Windows 7 fonts Courier New, Arial and Times New

Roman contain all required Unicode ranges. So it is possible to use these fonts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About the correction in this note, please see below:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: Below code correction is only necessary if you do not implement the

SAPscript/Smart Forms correction from note 1428440. If you have the correction

from 1428440 implemented, you do not need the correction from this note

described below for correct PDF output of Vietnamese.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then please create the spool by PDFUC or SWINCF and take a test.

If the issue persists, please check whether you need to apply note "1645944 - PDF conversion: Font change not required".

Yiming

Hi Naresh

What is the language of the form right now?

And what about a real print. Does it look the same?

And what kind of downloading do you use?

Via Spoolserver and SAPWIN or with a custom made program? I think the issue's root is here.

Hello Florian,

Original language of the script is currently EN but i copied to VI language also.

I am using custom program to download it to PDF

Even i tried with standard program to download it into PDF,But it's also displaying junk text.

Hi NAresh,

I think your problem is the global setting of language in your system.

Please try to download it via spoolprint. You know, have a specific device which downloads the spool as pdf. I'm pretty sure that works.

If it works, is this a solution which will help you?

I mean, why are you converting the spools?

The next step would be to check the codepage and so on.

Hello Florian,

Please try to download it via spoolprint.

I didn't get your point that downlod via spoolprint.

I have created spool from print preview and used standard program RSTXPDFT4 to download it as PDF.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks

Hi Naresh,

no you can also download it as pdf via printing it.

You need a device type at your print-server which creates the pdf.

I'm not sure, but I think the device type is PDF1.

Found a ocument on this topic:

I have created Ouput device with device type PDF1 and added a printer in my PC .From the print preview if i click on print its not showing any popup to save to PDF.

I could only see the Print progress dialog(SAPLPD).

I checked notes( 317851 ,576973  ,323736 ) which are mentioned in the link ,those are having the status as Can not be implemented .

I followed every step but couldn't succeed.

Florian,

I checked the code page for the language VI in using the Tcode SNLS.Its showing that ''Not in TCP0C''.

I checked the table VI.But there is no entry with the language VI.Is that the reason its displaying junk text?

But i could notice that only some characters are displaying wrongly not all .

When end user downloading the file to PDF its showing # .But in my case some other character its showing.

Now am in dilemma that whether it's because of code page or PDF requires some additional plugins.

Thanks

Seems that Yiming's note should solve the issue. But you are right, the missing entry here should be the root of your issue. After importing the Truetypefont there will be also an entry for VI.
