Setup tables taking long time in ECC

Hi,

Set up tables taking long time in ECC .How to reduce that downtime .

We have very short maintenance window to fill the setup tables and system is taking very long to fill the setup tables.

Any recommendations to tune the performance for filling the setup tables in ECC.

Thanks,

Rakesh

Hi,

There is no other way.

But rather than filling huge data at  time, better to split data and fill it.

Use possible selections  and fill the data. run in background.

Even seek basis team help, at ECC side if is there any chance  hold or reschedule the running jobs at set upt able filling time.

Thanks

Hi Ramanjaneyulu,

Thanks you so much for your reply.

Is this a common thing everywhere .We have 30M records but for others they might have billion records.

What is the best practise to follow up.

Thanks,

Rakesh

Hi,

if data was huge then it will be common.

so that's why we need to split the data and fill setup tables.

By using different selections we can run multiple jobs(set up table filing job) at a time.

Even we need to check ECC performance also. if load on ecc was huge then loading performance will be slow.

Thanks

Thanks again.

But if we see the selection screen in ECC like OLI7BW we don't have more choices there.

We don't have option for time or period .We do have Sales org or Sales document range to select .

Do we have to enhance that transaction or Do  I miss anything here ?

Regards,

Rakesh

in such case you can use sales doc ranges.

sales doc ranges you can get from SD team and fill them by splitting.
