unable to execute job to extract data from R3 source system

Hi,

when scheduling a process chain that has "1 info package and 1 DTP" to extract data from R3 4.7 source system, it is failing with message "Job BI_PROCESS_DTP_LOAD could not be scheduled. Termination with return code 8". no logs found in the process chain. No job logs also found in SM37. I'm using an user id with no SAP_ALL but all other required authorizations exist including complete S_RS_AUTH, S_RS_ADMWB, S_RS_DS, S_RS_DTP, S_RS_PC. (no issue if process chain is run with another user who has SAP_ALL)

appreciate any help.

Hi

You have already found the answer for your question. You need to get SAP_ALL access. Or execute the process chain with the user id which has SAP_ALL access as you said its working fine.

What is it stopping you to do that

I'm looking to have it run by end user who shouldn't have SAP_ALL assigned as part of SOX audit guidelines.

Understood. But not sure if there is a way to do it.

Check out the below link and try to define the object changeability.

Hi,

return code - 8 means you did transportiaon wrong.

which system your are working dev or prd?

check the source system connection for ECC to BI.

then activate the DTP.

Thanks,

Hi BPC,

Please do following and you should have exact idea as to which authorization object is missing in your user id.

1. Run the process chain

2. Check SU53 in your BW system for the user who is running the process chain - You can check the authorizations for other users too from top menu (Authorization Values -> Other User -> Execute)

3. Do same activity in source system too.

With this you will get better idea about missing authorization.

Also try to do below:

1. Goto the Planning View of the Process Chain.

2. Goto "Process chain" >>> Display/Change.

3. Goto "Process chain" >>> Attributes >>> Execution User >>> tick "Current User".

For authrizations contact your basis team as experts suggest.

Thanks
