LVM - Is it possible to use an existing host not provisioned with LVM for Sys copy?

Hello,

We are in a POC for LVM 2.0 and we were wondering if it is possible to perform a system copy using a previously provisioned host? This host would be provisioned separately (using VMWare proprietary tools) without using LVM to create the virtual host.

Please let me know if this is possible.
