Hi Chezangla,

Object links:  Document can be attach against sap object tables (ex.MARA, POORDER) . These object links will appear under document type settings. Go with T-code Dc10 .

Data carrier :  Its processing functions for DMS documents . Please check DC20 and go for help you can find alot information.

Storage system:  Storage area for your attached documents. If you have separate server you can avoid load traffic in sap system. It will exist based on technical settings.

Work Station Application:  check for Dc30 .

Content server:  Its a server for document storage purpose for you business documents. it will provide highly secured for your documents and saved in encrypted format. No one can't view at operating system level. Everything we can do from SAP screen only. If you have a requirement to save your business documents in separate system than go with content sever integration with SAP system. Its suggested by SAP and free licensed software for SAP customers .

Vault:  Its one of the data carrier for documents. By using vault we can attach maximum 2 documents from SAP . If your sap system integrated with content server we can attach number documents .  Vault settings can be done at Dc20.

In shortly given information if you need more information please search in scn.
