Deployment of the InfoViewApp fails

Former Member

Hello there,

I've installed the Crystal Reports 2008 Server SP6.

Now I'm trying to deploy the apps with wdeploy but it fails for the most important apps like the InfoView and the CmcApp. It worked for apps like AdminTool, BusinessPocessBI.

c:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\deployment>wdeploy.bat tomcat7 -Das_mode=split -Das_dir=f:\tomcat7 -Das_instance=localhost -Dwork_dir="c:\Program Files
(x86)\Business Objects\deployment\workdir" -Dconnector_type=tomcat7 -DAPP=InfoViewApp deploy
Using JAVA_HOME=F:\Java\jdk1.7.0_67
Buildfile: wcommon.xml

config:
Loading config.tomcat7
Loading InfoViewApp.properties

preconfig:

checkargs:
Validating configuration...
Configuration validated!

buildwar:
Application's war file or application's source tree not found!

predeploy:
Application's war file or application's source tree not found!

deploy:
Application's war file or application's source tree not found!

BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 0 seconds
Ant return code: 0

It say BUILD SUCCESSFUL but nothing has been installed. I'm really not sure why he says Application's war file or application's source tree not found! since all the apps are stored under C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\warfiles\WebApps and even folders of the apps that have been installed successfully don't contain any .war files. They seem to be generated during the Installation process.

Thanks

Thomas

P.S. JAVA_HOME etc. are all set. I did follow the instructions from http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP5/en/SMP/xi31_sp5_webappd_win_en.pdf

Here's what the wdeploy.log says:

@Denis - you're right, only the .war files of the successfully installed apps are in there. So what can I do now? Where can I get those files from?

Thanks

Thomas

If you have another working environment with the same patch level, you can copy them to your troubled environment.

or you can run a repair on the install

Run a repair on the base install.

Tried that but it did not help.

I guess since some files are missing, uninstall and reinstall is only option you have

Uninstall, reinstall and

F:\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications

gets me only 4 .war files

AdminTools.war

BusinessProcessBI.war

jsfplatform.war

Xcelsius.war

BTW, I asking the installer not to install mysql and not to install tomcat, because I have mine.

How to get cmc and infoview wars installed?

Another thing that occurs during the base installation is error STW00213.

Thanks

Thomas

they should be installed automatically. At this point I think it is better to open Incident with SAP Support.
Something is missing and without looking at your system it might be hard to figure out.

looks like the actual source war files are missing from C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications

In Xi3.1/Crystal Server 2008 - that directory contains actual source wear files.
