Hi Nicolas, If this persists in SP8 you could try to change a setting in Internet Options. For me it has worked, however I do connect to Netweaver not BI platform, but I think the issue could be the same.
Open IExplorer, Internet Options, Advanced and de-select the option "Check for publisher's certificate revocation" under Security. Then try again and see if there is any difference.

Hi Nicolas,
We experienced similar issues but only on selective machines, in our case
note 1781616 solved our issue (Same as Farmakis comment)
I think it has something to do with your proxy/internet explorer setup. Can
you run a trace route and check your hops.
To do a trace rout, at the command prompt, type tracert YourBOBJserver.com
You may need some assistance from your network team to confirm the servers
it hops to before going to your bobj server.
Have you checked your browser is setup to bypass proxy for local servers and
that your bobj server list listed in your local servers list?
Hi Nicolas,
Are you talking about the time it takes from when you select ok button on the login screen till the time it shows you a list of OLAP connections you have defined in your bobj server?
