order cost and settelement

pls clarify the confusion,

while  creating a maintenance order againest the equipment order cost center is taking form the maintenance plant's cost center,at the same time equipment is having an internal order as a setellement order.here the confusion is while doing setellement order cost going throuh consumption order that is having same cost center of equipment. why we need to mainain the consumption order(as a cost collection). pls explain me is setellement order is mandatory,and normally how the cost will flow from order to cost center.

Settlement will happen as per Settlement Profile configuration. What is the default object maintained in Settlement Profile??

If order has been maintained as default object, Internal order has been maintained in Equipment & while doing Release or TECO, if you adapt Default rule, then Internal order will be copied.

By manual intervention, settlement rule can be changed to G/L as well if this is allowed receiver in settlement profile.

As per your above explanation, settlement will happen to G/L only.

Check the Settlement Profile & above mentioned steps of creating Settlement rule. Also go through forum to understand about the Settlement of PM Order.

Hi,

Generally The process we follow is given below

1. We will Decide that on which we need to settle the cost (for you it is cost Center).

2. Go to IMG > Controlling > Internal Order > Actual Posting > Settlement > Automatic Generation of Settlement Rule then maintain the setting on which we need to settle the cost. This setting help to create Automatic Settlement rule once order gets release.

3. The cost center will be picked from Equipment Master in Settlement order, (same cost center will be copied to Order when we include Equipment in Order)

4. When we settle The order it will settle to cost center in Settlement rule.

5. If you want to change the cost center then we can change it in settlment rule once it will get created.

But you mention Internal order, Consumption order and cost center. On which you want to settle the cost Please let me know.
