Unable to create an MDM repository

Hi,

When we try to create an MDM repository, we get an error 'Unable to modify Database', and we are unable to create any repositories. But when checked we can see the repository exists, however unable to connect to it.

We are on Windows and SQL Server. On opening the MDM console and mounting MDM server, we see the server status running with some repositories available. When trying to create a repository, we receive the error 'Unable to modify Database'. We are using version 7.1.07 for both server and client. Checked to ensure the user used to logon to MDM server has all required authorizations on SQL server.

Any advice would be of great help.

Regards,

Naga

To add to above . . .

Per Note 1543650 - MDM Configuration Assistant, ran the configuration assistant, and it shows error for DB user permission:

Specified DBMS user may not have sufficient permissions required by MDM in order to connect to the database

Tried all possible authorizations with same result. What am i missing here?

Hi Naga,

Please check the sap note, if that helps.

1361297 - Deleting a repository return the error "Unable to modify..."

Thanks Prithvi, for your response.

However, the issue in our case was completely different.

The 'DBMS Settings' (which can be pulled through the SAP MDM Console -> MDM Servers menu -> DBMS Settings) were pointing to inaccessible path for the 'Data Path', correcting which has resolved the issue.
