Installing BPC 10.1 on Virtual Landscape and then migration to HANA

Hi,

I got this new requirement from one of the customer. Due to hardware unavailability client decided to Install BPC 10.1 on Virtual Landscape
and later on migrate it to HANA.

Installation of BPC 10.1 will be a straight forward approach. But, I am quite confused to figure out the Migration part.

In this scenario BPC version will be same, change will be at the Database and hardware level.

Initial plan is to follow below steps for this Migration activity.

1. The BPC 10.1 on HANA system is built as a new system.
2. Backup/Export the BPC 10.1 NW Environment from the old system.
3. Restore/Import the BPC 10.1 NW Environment into the new BPC HANA system.
4. Migrate the BPC 10.1 format and then optimized for BPC 10.1 on HANA.
5. Activate Accelerator in SPRO

Can you please let me know if I missed something or any other steps we have to cover for this activity.

Hi,

Systematiclly speaking there is no issue in your thought process from Step-1 to 5.

Out of all the steps (5). I see the Step-3 (Restore/Import the BPC10.1NW) is a challenging step.

Cons

There is a change to fail due to the data base inconsisitencies. (RDBMS to IMDB)

Other wise there is no issue on your plan.
