Collections Strategies processed for all customers and exit rules

Hello Mark

I did have one follow up question on this if I may. I can also open a separate discussion for this.

As you say, we have certain exit rules configured in our strategy which means that if the conditions are met that BP is taken off the worklist altogether until the condition is no longer met. While that is OK from perspecitive of managing the worklist, the downside is that all BPs are no longer visible on teh worklist. So it makes it harder from a 'management' viewpoint because it is now no longer possible to see what the overall aging is for all BPs and also means that is a collector logs a contact action then the BP gets taken off the Worklist and upper management cannot see what actions were taken on that customer any longer. Whereas before the implementation of teh strategies, all BPs remained on the Worklist and so the full aging and contact history with the BP was visible there.

Would you have any suggestions how to get around that limitation? For example would it be possible to do something like valuate any customer that had a conatct or met exit rule strategy with a ratung 'Very Very Low' so that it remains on teh Worklist and the collections team could then just ignore anything in that category but it would still be on the worklist if management wanted to view the details of any BP.

Or would you recommend a different approach such as trying to build a separate report outside Collections that gives the full aging + contacts for all BPs?

Thanks for any guidance you could offer on this query.

Regards

Michael

HI Michael

I have created a new branch for this for you as it is cleaner when others review and search content.

You raise a really good question and whilst there is not a single answer here I can provide my opinions and views for you.

Collections Management is a tool to perform customer contacts to aid the swift and full payment of customer debt. Therefore the purpose of the worklist is to provide the specialist a list of customers to contact. There is merit (in my eyes) in removing customers to help the specialist make the right contacts at the right time. (if you have all customers within a worklist not all can be contacted and the specialist will need to prioritse their accounts which removes some of the core functionality). It is also worth noting that customers that appear on a worklist could receive an e mail as opposed to a phone call to chase the debt.

FSCM does not replace FI-AR it should compliment it. Within FI-AR the Aged debt report is key. What I frequently see is a BW report that is enhanced to capture P2P and Dispute information. This will have a list of all customers, and their total debt - normally broken down into buckets.

BW reports can be written to monitor the collections process - and this would focus on the Collections Worklist progress - so my personal view is you are comparing apples and pears by wanting to run an aged debt report just from Collections Management.

Lastly with exit rules it is worth noting they have the final say. So all rules within a strategy could be met leading to a very high score - but if one of the exit rules is met then the BP wont appear in the worklist. There you need to use exit rules very carefully.

Hi Mark

Yes this makes sense and was along the lines we were also thinking.

Thank you.

Kind regards
