Good day,
I don't have much experience in Data Services, but are busy with an installation and need some urgent assistance.
On Server_1 I have installed:
BI4.1 SP04
DS4.2 SP3
IS4.2 SP3
Now I need to install on Server_2:
DS4.2 SP3 - one Job Server for load balancing.
I've read through all the documentation, but cannot get information on how to do this.
When I install DS on Server_2, do I need to have a separate Repository?
I need the DS installation on Server_2 to be part of a distributed architecture of the DS installation on Server_1.
I also need the Job Server on Server_2 to be associated with the IS Repository form the IS installation on Server_1.
What is the right way to accomplish this?
Please any assistance would be great, my project deadline is end of this week.
Thank you in advance,
Haidee Olivier
Good day,
Thank you so much for the replies both Jawahar and Daya, much appreciated!
This is how I resolved the problem.
Server 1 - I installed BI4.1 SP04, DS4.2 SP3 and IS4.2 SP3, each with their own repository database.
Server 2 - I installed IPS4.1 SP04 and DS4.2 SP3. However on here I installed DS without configuration. After the installation was complete, I created a Job Server and associated it to the repository of the DS installation on Server 1.
All is working 100%.
Thanks
Haidee

Hi Haidee,
For your above query below is the suggestion:
For Real Time Jobs:
You can use both the Job Server (Job Server 1 & Job Server 2) and distribute the load. You cannot map server group in Real time Jobs.
For Batch Jobs:
You can use server group or Job Server for execution or scheduling.
Thanks,
Daya

You can cluster the environment. Create a group of the job servers and attach the repository to both the job servers.
