Remove a field from a view in Org Unit Hierarchy

Hi,

we are currently working with a build of Org Chart 4.0 SP1 and we need to create e new view for Org Unit Hierachy.

The client is currently using the Manager view for Org Unit and know they are asking for a similar view, containing the same information, but without picture.

We tried to replicate that view but the standard templates doesn't have the required number of fields. Does anyone knows how to save a copy of an existing view and remove the field corresponding to picture?

Thanks for the support.

Vera

Assuming you're not going to move to 4.1 (which has this "Org Unit Manager No Portrait View" view ref. and OrgChart 4.1 feature checklist), then you will need to create the build from a template.

Take a look at sections 11.6 and 11.7 of the OrgChart 4.0 SP1 admin guide.  Perhaps a good starting point would be to reproduce the manager view as is using the OU_Manager_4L template?  Make sure you use the same data source as the actual manager view (check in view designer).

I think you should be able to exclude the photo field during the build process, but if this isn't available you would need to amend some of the underlying XML and XSL.  You may need to do this in any case to size the boxes appropriately as after removing the photo you may find that your boxes are too large.

Regards,

Stephen.
