BPC 10 SP14 for Microsoft, EPM Client 10 SP19 Patch 1, Excel 2007
Hello,
I have created a book template that I would like the end users to be able to use to Publish Books...
I have given them the a Task Profile including "Publish Books"(under Publish) but when the end user try to run the Publish Books under Book Publication(Collaboration)
Selection 1st screen: "Publish Now"
Selection 2nd screen: "Publish to single Microsoft Excel workbook"
Selection 3rd screen: File Name: "test", and path c:\temp
The user gets the following error:
EPM General Error
An error has occured during the call of the web service to retrieve the list of templates.
Server message:
code:
severity: error
description: You are not authorized to perform this task; contact your system administrator

Framework message:

However if I add the Task Profile "Edit Book and Distribution templates"(under Publish) to the users Task Profile it works, but the thing is I don't want the users to be able to modify the templates.
Any ideas highly appreciated

Hi Mattias,
Could you please state if you are using SSL binding in IIS, and if you are please make sure that you have installed all clients relative certificates.
And in order to gather more detailed log please activate detailed error messages in IIS.

Hi Mattias,
also in 7.5 it is the same issue, unfortunately you can only leave the task profile as is, knowing that users can modify the template, or deny it for the users leaving this only to the Primary Administrator.
You can try to open an OSS message and see if SAP recognize the issue and solve it in a next sp or give you a workaround.
Regards
Roberto
