Email Notifications via SolMan

Hello All,

I have setup monitoring alerts for PI 7.4 system via SolMan.

The alerts are basically notifications received via e-mails.

The problem is even though the alerts are working fine, the message content in the mails is just not good enough.

It doesn't mention the priority of the issue (even though it is mentioned in PI system as well as the Message Monitoring Section of Technical Monitoring) and the error category which is the most required thing in a mail is also missing.

Kindly suggest what actions I should take on this.

Thanks,

Ajeya G V

Hi Ajeya,

Please check the note 1747633 which explains how you can customize
different sections of the email. The only way to modify the email is through a BAdi.This note also mentions the name of the bAdI which should be implemented.

See also below link for our BAdI interface documentation.

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi Ajeya,

In SOLMAN_SETUP >Technical Monitoring>Step 2.2 Configure Manually

In Edit mode - In Manual Activities>Start Web Dynpro in Content Customization.

Here you able to select what is in your Alert Analysis Report.

Hope this is of some help

Hello Ajeya,

There are different Smartforms you can use to customize the content in the email notifications.

The blog here gives an overview on how to change the smartform used in the email http://scn.sap.com/people/dolores.correa/blog/2007/09/18/sending-e-mail-from-support-message

Hope this helps,

James
