Reason for taking segmentation object as product over BP

Dear all,

Please educate me the purpose for taking segmentation object as product over BP while doing segmentation in marketing process,where the segmentation is meant for creating target groups.hope it would be answered at the earliest of possible.

Hi Ramesh,

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about the prupose of sementation. (Please correct me if I am wrong). It's basically the dividing of customers based on something in common. Additional usages depends on the way the organization wants to use the authorization through segmentation usages. Generally organizations use Sales area data for segmentation authorizations. So a separate set of segmentation usage is created for each sales area.

Now SAP allows you to create a segmentation based on some data sources like Marketing attributes and they are maintained at BP level. Hope this cleas your doubt.
