The Material type cannot be changed, the reason for this are : The new material type requires that all the following data for the mat. is first archived and deleted: Sales Data(MVKE).

Kindly help us, how to archive Sales Data.

Thanks & Regards,

I agree with G. Lakshmipathi,

SAP checks the calculation view for cost estimates when you change from a valuated to non-valuated material type, and those cost estimates need to be archived, but no other view would need to be archived . see 1727166 - During execution of the transaction MMAM the system issues error message "Costings for the...

Especially as it is not SAP standard to archive single views, it is not even standard to archive certain organization levels, this is only possible through the modification from OSS note

543279 - MM_MATNR: Execution for specific organizational levels

See SAP Knowledge article 2564279.

Short version
1) Use transaction MM06 to set the deletion flag (at sales org level only).
2) Use transaction SARA to archive and then delete the material.
Make sure that you are Not in TEST mode and that the
"Consider materials without deletion flag" box is NOT checked.
3) After this, the Sales Views of the material should be gone.
Now you can use MMAM to change the Material Type.

Not seems to be a standard error message but a customized one which your ABAPer can give inputs what validation is there.  Discuss with your technical team and proceed accordingly.
