Hi,
Is there any way we can start Audit logging in MaxDB version 7.8.02.40.
The auditors are asking for Audit logging of DB Administrator functions/activities.
I know the DB Administrator activities are getting logged in dbm.prt but it get overwrites every 3-4 days as it is writing the information for log file every 20min. And also is there any way to increase the file size of dbm.prt?
And also is there any way to get the audit information for DB Administrator activities for month of September.
Thanks in advance…
Narendra
Hi,
MaxDB does not offer any elaborate audit logging.
For any ddl related table changes, you can query as sysdba user the internal table 'sysddlhistory'.
Regarding the 'dbm.prt' log file size, just increase that size via the 'dbmcli ... dbm_protfilesize <size> <unit>' command - arguably not very obvious, I have to admit...
