Trademark (TM) symbol appearing junk in excel

Hi Gurus,

I have developed an export functionality using webdynpro where a user can export a sap table data onto a ms-excel sheet. But I could see the trademark symbol as ADEâ(instead of TM as superscript). Also there are junk values while printing the long text as shown below (highlighted section)

<(><<)>p>RAW MATERIALS SECTION NOTES<(><<)>br/>Â No Raw Materials Section

Could you please throw some light as how to fix this issue. I have tried changing the MIME types but still no luck.

Currently MIME type is EXCEL and file extension is .xls

Hi Kiran,

Isn't there any other way to get this achieved? I am still wondering if there is an issue with the MIME types and file extensions or any other way where this trademark symbol can passed so that while downloading this in the excel it does not replace with the garbage values?

Hi,

I don't think its an issue with mime type. Some times icons and special characters will not be downloaded properly when exporting the data..

So, as suggested raise an oss and SAP will suggest you a note for the issue.
