SAP Sybase update

Former Member

Hello Friends,

We are planning to update SAP Sybase from 15.7.041 to 15.7.130 on Windows.

As the ASE version > SP100 i have referred the SAP note 1982469 - SYB: Updating SAP ASE with saphostctrl / sapdbctrl

for the upgrade.

I have few doubts which needs to be cleared.

As per previous version (SP <100) upgrade used to carried out with the help of upgrade script which used to be attached in the Note.

But i cannot find any script in the SAP Note 1982469.

Is the procedure changed for SP>100, as i cannot find any script.

Kindly clarify my doubt and also the steps which needs to be taken care or different from preious SP (<100)

Thanks in Advance,

Sreekumar

Hello Sandeep,

Thanks for Information.

currently i am Updating ASE version on Windows 2008

I have referred both of the Notes.

Kindly clear my below doubts:

In the versions below 15.7 SP100 there was a upgrade script attached in the Note 1607816 - SYB: Installing Service Packs for SAP Sybase ASE 15.7 (Windows)

But for version > 15.7 SP100, i cannot find any script attached in the Note 1982469 - SYB: Updating SAP ASE with saphostctrl / sapdbctrl  . So i am not sure about the script which is used for upgrading.

is the old script attached in the Note 1607816 still valid?

Kindly confirm.

Thanks in Advance,

Sreekumar

Hi Sreekumar,

I think for newer versions the upgrade script attached to 1602547 - SYB Current syb_update_db script versions.
