Dear experts,
Is it possible to transport ESR and ID Objects from sap pi 7.4 to 7.0.
Please suggest!
Regards,
Kiran Polani
Hi Kiran
I don't think it is possible. The meta data and TPZ file formats are different.
The following links shows you can only transport from a lower release a higher one, with specified restrictions.
Importing ESR Content - Configuring Process Integration After Installation - SAP Library
The link shows a transport from PI 7.1 to PI 7.0 itself is unsupported. Should be the same for PI 7.4 as well.

Dear Sai,
i don't get any error like you said. we are using File Transport mechanism for transportation. when we are place the .tpz files in server location it is placed. after that i have impored the placed .tpz object in IR or ID i am able to see those files.
is there any other alternative solution for it.

Hi Kiran,
The File transport might be successful, but check if the mappings are Intact without any missing links. This might happen if you are using any standard content Structure in your mappings in 7.4
You need to replace it manually with the corresponding 7.0 Structures
Also for ID, I believe you need to re-configure the objects if the System names are not same / not present in 7.0

Polini,
I think you will have problem on that, because the version of SAP BASIS component, where there are the channels of SAP PI.

Hello Kiran,
No. You'll encounter an error something like below:
'...objects contains features, which are not supported in the current release.'
