Daily activities in GTS System from BASIS point of view

Hi Gurus,

I am new to SAP APO, i want to know what are all the daily monitoring activities done in GTS system with respect to SAP BASIS.

Hi Sastry,

I'm also new to APO, but luckily it has nothing to do with GTS, so no need to worry about it .

As far as I know GTS is very much the same as any other SAP system in terms of daily operations and monitoring for the Basis team.

From a GTS Application viewpoint, I would expect and want the Basis team to:

• Check for, and analyse, Short Dumps - those may have been caused by Remote Function Calls from the feeder system, and in that case the users may not be aware of them
  
  
• Check for RFC failures (transaction SM59), to make sure that calls to the feeder system are not failing or aborting.  Similarly, check in the feeder system for calls to GTS.
• Check and report failed iDocs, particularly if Customs Management is active in the GTS system.
