Hide "Document overview On" button in PR document - ME51N

Hi Gurus,

Please share the config / steps through which I can hide the "Document Overview On" button while creating / Changing (ME51N / ME52N).

Hi,

   If you want to restrict the changeability for a particular field, you may restrict it using screen layout or using transaction variant or similar methods. The document overview button is a very useful function - I would suggest to keep it.

Can you give any reason why you want hide a very useful function?

Actually if user is creating new PR with reference to an existing PR (using Document Overview option) he can change the PR document date or keep it blank (whereas it should be current date always). To restrict the same I need to hide this option.

Would it be a solution to make the Message ME 039 as Error in transaction OLME -> Environment data -> Define Attributes of system messages ?. That way, the user can copy a Purchase requisition and would still have to change the date to >= System date.

You can try it via screen variant (SHD0) - Menu function.

Same way, you can do it for ME52N.

Thanks for the reply. I guess, going by the suggested option, a new tcode shall be created and I will have to change all the roles (from authorization point of view) as we as communicate to all end users.

Please suggest any other alternative where above activity is not requrired.

No. It will be effected in existing ME51N t-code. You do not need to do anything in PFCG - Profile and role.

Have a look into the document

You can ignore the part which is starting from SE93.
